also, Belgium and England playing each other twice in the same world cup with both games having essentially no meaning is very funny

So many club teammates just looking at each other and shrugging while Harry Kane hustles his way annoyingly to a golden boot-sealing hat trick.

The Tyler Adams to RB Leipzig is done. $5 mil buy and loan-back that will allow him to finish the season with NYRB and still join the club in the fall rather than having to wait until January.

https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/2018/ ... dams-usmnt

The Jesse Marsch situation is interesting. He's "co-trainer" of RB Leipzig with RB's global director of football, a guy who is apparently a mentor and really invested in Jesse's future. So he's really the caretaker manager for the year and they're packaging it in a way that will let them get away with hiring an American unknown. The players and fans will have a guy they already respect involved and giving Jesse his credibility.

I think it's a ballsy move and should serve him well. It's pretty much the opposite of the Bob Bradley at Swansea situation. The ownership really knows what it's doing.

Harry Kane winning the Golden boot with one goal that wasn't a penalty or a teammate accidentally hitting him in the heel is also extremely funny

Hey now. It was two goals. Both in the Tunisia game. But your point still stands.

that is some piss poor reffing. first France goal on a dive and second one on a dubious at best handball. Backwards use of VAR. Credit France or fatigue for taking Modric out of the match though.

I personally think Josh Sargent has everything he needs to be the best US pure striker of all time, but man oh man do we need to find more forwards in the next four years.

Has there been any third party verification of what racist things were said/done? I know that he's faced backlash because Erdogan is a monster (which isn't racist, per se) but also that a lot of European squads have legit issues with racism/nativism in the past (France and Belgium come to mind).

I do not follow these things closely, but from those articles it seems like Ozil is using a situation where there is legitimately a reason to criticize him as an opportunity to claim that he's discriminated against, which may also be a worthy criticism.

The quotes from the Bayern guy though, woof. Scathing.

Real Madrid want Pulisic
Christian Pulisic could have some pretty big boots to fill after emerging as the latest name on Real Madrid's list of targets to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, reports the Daily Mail.

With Neymar and Eden Hazard seemingly out of reach this summer, Madrid are thought to be plotting a £60m move for the 19-year-old.

The European champions have already loaned teenage fullback Achraf Hakimi to Dortmund, which could help sweeten a deal for Pulisic should they follow up their interest.

Not sure how I feel about this - pretty risky as he may not even get to play much.

I'm in Berlin and that has been a big story on TV over the weekend - but as a tourist I wasn't paying much attention .

Both of their games have been ridiculous too, LAFC collapsed on itself and was lucky to even get a point after being up 2-0 at home 80 minutes in.

$80,000,000+ is truly a horsefeathers load of money for Christian Pulisic.

That Neymar transfer last year really blew up the prices on the transfer market.

It's a little absurd for players that haven't really proven themselves at that level . . . I mean Pulisic has been good but . . .
