Groups D, E, and F look fun. If there's a group of death I'd lean towards F.

I only saw 30 minutes of this game and feel like I saw 2 games' worth of action: http://www.nbcsports.com/video/man-unit ... highlights

Even in those highlights I count at least 5 'oh that's a goal for Arsenal' moments and they only end up with one.

Former USWNT star keeper Hope Solo has thrown her hat into the ring and announced that she’ll be running for president of the U.S. Soccer Federation, for some reason.

This whole thing is just so stupid. Anthony Precourt is like the central-casting version of the "villainous sports owner", the plans for the stadium in Austin are laughably terrible, no one in Austin wants the team, there is a huge outpouring of support for the team to stay here, and it's all just yelling into the wind.

Was hoping Spurs would get lucky with the UCL draw and instead they drew Juve. At least it's not Bayern, I guess. At least Chelsea didn't get lucky and drew Barcelona. And PSG drew the short stick and got stuck with Real Madrid.

Looks like Portland might be selling Nagbe to Atlanta, which is a wowowow thought on many levels.

It really is. He's an interesting player and can be the poster boy for a lot of good and frustrating things about the league and american soccer. Unquestionably good but never great. Valuable but expendable. Could be really interesting to see what Tata Martinez and all that offensive talent does with him. Either way, Portland is really, really moving on from the Caleb Porter era.

Nice winner by Pulisic today. Couldn’t see how the bounce popped up to him but will take it.

Sounds like Nashville is getting one of the expansion teams since MLS is holding an event there tomorrow. That leaves Sacramento, Cincy and Detroit for the second spot.

I'm pretty damn excited about this. The stadium is going to be very nice, will definitely be getting season tickets.

FA cup holders Arsenal crash out in the third round, losing 4-2 to Nottingham Forest.
Eric Lichaj scored twice for Forest.

Jonathan Gonzalez is filing a switch to play for Mexico. Essentially an 18 year old, Mexican-American Ozzie Alonso. One of the most promising prospects in the pool.

could we have kept him if we called him to europe for the friendlies, or is this a result of the US not making the World Cup?

I have to think he switched because he just prefers Mexico. If it's true that we could have kept him if we had called him up for a beyond meaningless friendly against a B team in Portugal, then he would be a petulant baby, and I doubt that's the case.

I suspect that like a lot of mexican-american dual nationals, he was 100% committed to the US until a Mexico international career call up looked like a safe bet and then instantly he wasn't. They didn't even know he existed until he was in our YNT.

He's a nice prospect but at the deepest, youngest position we have, so it's not a Rossi/Subotic tragedy. That said, I want more Mexican-American representation on the national team and he looked pretty can't-miss. The thing that bothers me the most is what role, if any, Trump played in this guy's decision of which country he wants to represent. I think playing for El Tri in a World Cup is the big draw, but I'm sure the US missing the WC and Trump being elected hurt us to varying degrees.

Can't discount his agent in this equation either. He plays in Liga MX. Mexican internationals get premium salaries in Liga MX.

Also worth mentioning that Tab Ramos is probably going to be the next MNT head coach and he left Gonalez off his U-20 world cup roster in favor of Tyler Adams and a few others he rated higher
