Serious question. Was the television picture quality that horsefeathers 15+ years ago and I’m just spoiled now, or is there some reason these game replays look so bad? I’ve watched a few from the early 2000’s and they look like the moon landing.

2005 was still 480p, wasn't it? i always wonder how today's stuff will look decades from now. we're already getting diminishing returns from resolution,so i wonder what kind of technology will advance the way home displays look.i guess hdr on sports would be a good start.

There was the odd HD broadcast before that, but yeah, SD was standard at that point. The reason it doesn't look good is the upconversion, most likely.

I spent around a grand for a 32 inch in 2004 or 2005 that was HD and it was a big deal. Hardly any cable channels in HD.

I bought a 32 inch HD TV in 2006 with frequent player points on Pokerstars, and yeah, the only HD content back then was blu ray (which I didn't have and wouldn't have for many years later) and OTA.

They tested Tuesday then had group workouts Wednesday before they found out the results of the test. What kind of stupid ass protocol was that?

CFB fans joked about the possibility of some team intentionally infecting themselves so they'd be immune during football season. I'm not saying that happened here, but it's interesting.

If there is a coach that would do something like that, it would be Saban.

I guess this goes here? Who would have had Stone Cold being a voice of reason and so many more mild mannered athletes just totally stepping in it.

"What also chaps my ass, some of these churches, have the high horse that they get on and say 'we as a church do not believe in that.' Which one of these horsefeathers talked to God, and God said that same-sex marriage was a no-can-do?"

After the fact that he did all that horsefeathers? See that's all horsefeathers to me, that don't jive with me."

Iowa just announced cuts to 4 programs: men’s gymnastics, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, and men’s tennis.

GET OFF MY LAWN ALERT!

The mindless yuk yuk locker room chucklefest that is every single sports show on TV makes everything but the actual games unwatchable for me. Podcasts are about my only source for sports related media anymore.
