I’m only mentioning this because a) I’m bored and b) the people saying there is a trade happening have like 4-5k followers so it’s not just some random fake twitter account. Do what you want with the “info”

They might have 4,000 followers, but they also are following 5,000 people.

Not saying it will happen, but the Cubs coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win the World Series does seem like the appropriate way to cap off this season and make the 30-for-30 even better.

If he was claimed by the Cubs then the Nationals would immediately pull him back. We aren't getting someone that good, but I do know the Cubs are looking.

Seems like a fake rumor to me.

They may not immediately pull him back, they'd probably at least discuss a deal if that were the case. Frankly, I don't see him getting past the Brewers if they did try to pass him through waivers.

Joking here? What the heck would they do with yet another infielder who can’t play D?

It does seem fake and an odd fit for us.... but why would the Nats pull him back if they can get a little something??? He’s a FA and they’re dead. It makes sense for them to move him, regardless of the team that claims him.

Is it odd that I don’t think it’s odd for us?

He’s horrible on defense, like playing Travis Shaw at 2B bad. The bat is fine and likely good, but still odd move. I worry it means KB is dead.

Partially. At least this one might be able to hit a bit. They could play him at short!

I would assume that if the Brewers claimed him, they'd offer next to nothing in return and hope the Nats pull him back. The claim would be purely to prevent anyone else from being able to claim him.

Throw Chapman in that group too.

I more appreciated the feeling of certainty at the end of games rather than accepting Chapman himself. With the other two, I accepted them being on the team, but never really accepted them.

They are fine distinctions, but they allow me to live with myself more comfortably.

Someone refresh my memory because I am, of course drawing a blank: is there something annoying about Murphy besides him getting some really big hits against the Cubs? Because those other three dorks were and are varying levels of genuinely obnoxious turdbags.

He said he didn't agree with the gay "lifestyle."

But, somewhat promisingly, he's working on not being an horsefeathers or something?

During a "Not For Women Only" panel discussion, former Cubs pitcher Mike Bielecki asked several players to invent a baseball catch phrase for Viagra. Theriot's ad campaign: "Viagra -- I always play hard."

He also handed me a ball for my then infant daughter at this game.

We still have it, but the dog gave it a couple chomps.

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

In addition to his homophobia, I just hate Murphy's mannerisms too -- that thing he does in celebration, the slow motion smacking of the hands together, then explode apart (I refuse to dig up a gif of this it bugs me so much). Petty of me? Yep.

Honestly, I forgot about the homophobia, I just still hate him for hitting a million 335 foot pop-fly home runs during the 2015 NLCS.

But now it turns out I have a real reason to hate him, too.

Someone claimed Hamilton. Hopefully the trade happens by tomorrow so we don’t have to face that gremlin and see him post a 1.000 OPS vs us this weekend
