Nothing says "We're serious about having you on our team" like having a meeting less than a week away from pitchers and catchers reporting

This all ends up with them signing Cargo, Adam Jones, Parra, or Gomez.

i deeply appreciate all the heroin in the forehead talk, but it seems like we are overdue for a reminder of the incredible original context:
a good way to show your displeasure with the way the gm of the cubs is running the team is to go to his house, knock on the door, and then inject heroin into your forehead before he answers so that he will have to deal with your corpse or whatever when he opens the door.

[expletive]! That's now a lot more terrifying instead of whimsical. I guess tree adopted it like sulley ran with the thick onion gravy thing like a boss.

Re: The Bryce is Right, Bitch
apparently that's the earliest mention of that word on record, so it was probably before the first great board crash (when we also lost the nomar thread)
he did also once refer to dusty as "dustafarian baker"
also i have zero recollection of marquis grissom ever being a cub (even on an ST invite)

My dad still lamely jokes about the "all French outfield" the Cubs could have had between Marquis, Pierre and Jacque to this day.
horsefeathers, he intentionally started calling Murton "Moo-tone" to try and make it sound French.
Dad jokes.

Wait. So when was Marquis Grissom on the Cubs? I don't remember that transaction at all.

Not saying it will happen, but the Cubs coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win the World Series does seem like the appropriate way to cap off this season and make the 30-for-30 even better.
