The Brewer fan message board guy who knows things says we got Darvish.

Post 162, the board seems to vouch for him and he says he has sources and has broken stuff before.....

They were, Lucroy vetoed the trade and didn’t have the greatest things to say about Cleveland iirc

Just threw a little coin on the Cubs +500 to win the pennant because if this materializes I think projections make them the favorite in the NL

Even factoring in benefits, roster turnover and savings for the trade deadline, insiders project the Cubs can spend in the range of $30 or $35 million more this offseason and still stay underneath the $197 million luxury-tax threshold.

Yeah, I had it at 32 and some change, but the in season moves and callups are included in that figure. But, I'm using 15 mill for insurances, which IS a bit higher than any figure I've seen. Most figures I've seen are between 10-13 mill.

We can fit Yu in. My guess is it'd leave 7-10 mill to spend at mid season. Which is plenty.

Hell, it could be enough for Darvish and Yelich. Which would be a ridiculous off season.

Additional rule: you have to have one or the other. The only exception is you have an amazing board name. davell, I'm looking at you; put up a [expletive] avatar or something if your name only sounds like somebody tried say Dave as they lapsed into a coma.
