If anything, this long drawn out saga takes me back to the glory days of 2008-2009 with Roberts and Peavy. Only this time something has to give eventually....right?

The offseason in song form, just waiting for Grohl to say "best of Yu."

I agree; this offseason HAS been as boring as a Foo Fighters album.

Eh, I enjoyed the first album. Did they make full albums after the Color and the Shape? I haven't really paid attention...

Andy McCullough said in an article today that Yu has made it clear he wants to return to the Dodgers and has been waiting for them to shed money.

I'm all too ready for some [expletive] organization to bail those horsefeathers out.

The problem is that "all signs point to team X" can sometimes mean the player is going to team X and sometimes means the player's agent thinks he benefits from appearing to want to go to team X. That thing about "other teams will have to *way* outbid the Cubs" sure felt like one of those.

I'm still pretty sure it's happening.

The Dodgers don't look to be shedding money very fast.

I would think Theo would know this if it were true. Maybe he's given Darvish the best offer and Darvish is waiting to see if the Dodgers can get rid of some guys.

it kind of feels like the Dodgers thing might be some stale information. earlier in the offseason, Darvish made it clear he wanted to play for the Dodgers if they could clear payroll. they didn't clear payroll so, now, other teams must way outbid the Cubs for Darvish.

Matt Kemp is really the only “bad money” the Dodgers have at this point. If they could shed his contract without taking on a worse one or degrading their MLB roster, they would have already. But Kemp was the bad contract they had to take in order to get rid of the rest of their bad contracts.

But I believe McCullough on Darvish’s motivations. We’re at 6 weeks of the Cubs as the most serious bidder for Darvish’s services. If both sides wanted it, it would have happened by now.

Darvish better be careful. He’s the Twins signing Alex Cobb or Lance Lynn away from seeing the bottom drop out of his contract offers.

Article: http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/l ... story.html

Yes. My understanding is that Yu Darvish has made clear he would like to return to the Dodgers, and part of the delay in his free agency is related to waiting to see if the team can move some of the money. The Dodgers have explored scenarios for moving useful but (theoretically) extraneous assets such as Yasmani Grandal, Logan Forsythe and Hyun-Jin Ryu. Given the fact that those players are still Dodgers and Darvish is still a free agent, you can guess how the market has reacted to this gambit by the front office.

Dood had a nice RATM reference thrown into his article. We need more of this.

Hahahahaha and some other horsefeathers in the Metrosex is saying Yu "clearly" wants to return to Texas. Ok nobody knows horsefeathers and Yu is probably going to sign with a KBO.
