I am intrigued by the "for long" part, because it implies he didn't suck the entire time.

I know his pitch framing used to be considered elite. Is that still the case?

He does at least still have a good approach at the plate. He might benefit from being a little more aggressive. It's too bad Vic has hit so poorly as a starter.

I knew he’d fallen off the past few years, but I didn’t realize how sickeningly awful he’d been. It’s kind of like the Maldonado acquisition, only the opposite.

According to fangraphs, his defense (which I believe FG puts a big emphasis on framing) has been below replacement level this year, and way below replacement level in 2017, but pretty good in 2018.

We'll need a large sample of like 10 PA's before we'll be able to ascertain that though.

Yeah, he made the great catch and hit a home run in the first few days. Plus he probably led the team in walks for the time he was here.

Well, his .689 OPS at Busch bodes almost as poorly as his .627 OPS at Wrigley.

You should spend less time trying to be a smartass online and watch more baseball. Every year down guys take off in a pennant race andput up good numbers in places of past success. Did you say that dumb horsefeathers about Cole Hamels too?

Cole Hamels never played in the NL Central before the Cubs.

cole hamels took off because his mechanics were off and he was reworking them leading up to the trade. that makes a lot more sense than pennant race magic.

OPS better than KB's .621 in St Louis, and at least JL gets on base there hitting .295 with a .337 OBP for that OPS. They both have the same amount of hits in St Louis this year, but KB has 17 more AB
