While the talk as of late has been about trading Soriano and LaHair, it looks like as far as position players go, DeJesus could be out most valuable asset. 4.25 mil for 2013 and the 6 mil option for 2014 are a huge bargain, even if he puts up the numbers he currently is. DeJesus isn't the type of player who's going to turn a bad team good, but if you're looking to add a bat to a solid lineup, he's be one of the better options available, and he can play CF anf RF. While his power numbers arent what they were before 2011, his OBP is right where it's always been, actually a few points above average. There have been several teams showing interest in Jeff Francoeur, who's OPS is at .680 and has never been an OBP guy, so perhaps they'd be interested in DeJesus.

He's exactly the sort of player an AL team with a lot of pop should desire. Detroit, Boston, NY, Texas, etc. None of those team may be nterested however. He would also do well for Washington who is still trotting out Ankiel in CF.

He doesn't seem to me to be the type of guy I'd like my team to trade anything of value for. Maybe if you were a small market team that was a surprising contender and you were trying to throw your fans a bone with an acquisition. But you'd have to have a pretty weak OF situation for him to be much of a step up.

The Cubs aren't exactly bursting with bodies that need to play in the OF ASAP. I think I'd rather they keep him around and hope he has a better start to next season.

I'd keep DeJesus at this point. He's the only player on the roster that gets on base at a consistent level. And he's not the type of player teams will give up a lot for. Plus, he's a guy the Cubs can use next year as they don't have a ton of OF talent coming up. Even if Vitters goes to LF permanently, Jackson comes up, and Soriano can't get traded....there's still plenty of PT to be had by a guy like DeJesus, and he'd be a valuable 4th OF. But I wouldn't be upset if he's a starter again for the Cubs in 2013.

I think you only trade DeJesus if someone is willing to give up something absolutely stupid for him. If not, he's affordable and useful to the Cubs.

Yeah I wouldn't trade him. He's cheap enough and productive and we wouldn't obtain much in a trade anyway.
