Christmas
It's been a tradition here to rant about Christmas related things. I'm not sure which is more annoying, people taking offense to being wished a Merry Christmas or people asking why they can't wish people Merry Christmas or similar complaints.
Kay Jewelers can kindly go horsefeathers themselves.
I thought the music at Ulta would transition from God awful pop crap to holiday favorites. Wrong. Instead they found a compilation of the worst Christmas songs ever done by people that should never do them.
Taylor Swift, why does Christmas make you so sad?
Dear XM Holly, By now, they do, in fact know it's Christmas time at all. Side note, since about half of them aren't Christians it's unlikely that they ever cared.

True, regardless of the time of year.

Nobody gets offended by being wished a merry christmas. There is not and never has been a war on christmas. No piece of horsefeathers trump voter ever had their right to say merry christmas taken away.
Stop with this [expletive].

She can post her thoughts in this thread; we don't mind.

Re: Christmas
I'm gonna buck the trend of Christmas complaints and say how much I'm looking forward to the holidays this year. Looking forward to going back to Chicago, looking forward to seeing all my family (it helps that on both sides I can count the number of potential Trump supporters on one hand AND that they tend to not talk politics). My brother's back from Afghanistan, I got awesome gifts for everyone, I'm a LOT better off financially and health-wise than I was a year ago. This Christmas and New Years are going to be great, and I'm going to live it up before everything plunges into the stinkpit on January 20th.

I'm looking forward to the holidays for the simple reason that my office is closed for the week so I get 10 days off (24th-2nd).

we bought a new place and made the same decision. Best part is you give the smallest give and get bonus points.

and even though you spend all that time, the recipients aren't even that happy with their respective gifts and it all becomes a pointless exercise anyway.
here's an option: donate to charity! hopefully it's going to a good cause and the recipient can't be pissed otherwise they'll look like a total horsefeathers

Re: Christmas
I'm working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day beginning at 5 am. So that blows.
But then I'm flying up to the Ozarks and spending a week in the mountains of northern Arkansas. So that ain't bad. Some time above sea level is much needed.

Re: Christmas
I can't tell if recent events have made me more aware but it seems like every time I listen to Christmas music the station plays "Baby it's Cold Outside" within 20 minutes of turning the radio on. Every time I hear that song I think of this

There were three wise men so you might also ask for a world championship without seeming overly greedy.

Re: Christmas
I get close to three weeks off work and I spend them with the dog at the beach. That is the only part about this stupid holiday that I dont find entirely unpleasant.

Yeah, this season is glorious. Maybe it's because I'm only 4 years removed from being shackled by holiday retail working, and I don't have to deal with the nightmare of kids, but I horsefeathering love this time of year.

Having kids makes this season all that much better.

Yeah, my kids live for Christmas, even though they’re both too old for Santa.
And this Christmas is even better for me, as it’s the first time in six years I’m getting time off for the holidays instead of working overtime.

Plus we all know no woman will have me because I will never accept the sheer musical poetry that is "Wrong Way."
