Cars and Whatnot
I'm in the market for a decent used car for my daughter to drive for school activities, but the selections around here suck so I've looked in the Chicagoland area. anyone have recommendations for used car dealers around there or ones to avoid? I have an offer in on a car at Elite Motors in Mundelein that I should be hearing back on soon, but I don't want to drive all the way there for a piece of junk. or a bad car

I used to work for a company that did a lot of ROHRman's marketing. took me years to stop saying "there's only one bob ROHRman" at random times

If the car dies you can call Victory Auto Wreckers

Re: Cars and Whatnot
Have you considered buying a car at an auction? It's a decent option when you're looking for cheap transportation. If you have a mechanic that you can trust to fix any problems it can be the best bet. My son's 97 Toyota Camry got totaled by a saintly young man (insured gave him much more than any buyer would have). We went to an auction and got a 2006 Taurus with decent mileage for $1200. We had to put about $400 into it for new brakes and manifold but my son drove it until he got his new car from someone on Craig's List. My daughter will then drive the Taurus when she gets her license next fall.

I ended up getting something on Thursday after spending all day driving and testing. I now believe my 14 year old daughter has a nicer vehicle than me

Re: Cars and Whatnot
that seems to happen every other weekend on the eisenhower, which isn't that surprising considering the awful on/off ramp setup in oak park (and the drunks)

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.
