"horsefeathers looks like The Thing" - The Kyle Schwarber Thread

Postby Sammy Sofa » Tue Nov 08, 2016 8:14 pm

In no sane world does it make sense to keep using Schwarber's injury thread as his official thread. Please post all things Schwarber here.

CHICAGO -- Chicago Cubs Kyle Schwarber is letting us all in to his mindset before returning to the lineup for the World Series.

Schwarber spoke at a special Q & A session put on by Nike Chicago Monday night.

He talked about the work he had to do before getting the green light to return. And how that "green light" came in the form of a text from Theo Epstein.

Kyle Schwarber: the anti-Bum.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ch ... story.html

Earlier in the night, he acknowledged he has to some conditioning work ahead. "No more eating late-night McDonald's. No more late-night Taco Bell. It's going to be a big process for me" preparing for spring training.

Basically the only thing this season missed was a full season of Schwarber hitting fat dongers the whole time, and he even got a little cameo appearance on the biggest stage. Maybe up to #1 on my list of things to look forward to next season is a full season of Schwarbs.

I feel completely convinced in a full season he hits 40 fat dongers

So is the thought process to put him in left or right? I assume Heyward will move to center if Dex leaves

I've always been high on him. But I'm really excited to see him next year. I think he proves all the doubters wrong and puts up a huge season offensively. I think he can certainly be one of the top 10 bats in the league. There are some holes he needs to fix in his swing. But I think he will. I'm drooling at thought of him being in the lineup with Bryzzo.

I want him to go HAM in that Yankee series. I want Brian Cashman to watch and know he was never even close.

My gut feeling is someone else plays CF. I don't think the Cubs want to move him there.

just started laughing when i remembered that Schwarber missed 99 percent of the season, took like 10,000 swings in a cage and then lit the Indians up in the World Series

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

And then laid off a couple sick sliders from Miller to draw a walk later in the game.

Looks like the injury transformed him into a gym rat...that's cool, but can someone point him toward an elliptical, please? At least a treadmill, maybe?
