You guys are my favorite thing about the Cubs, and I don’t really like any of you.

Can't wait to watch the offseason coverage on how the Cubs aren't going to sign anyone due to city amusement taxes.

Very similar tenor to this: https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2019/02/14/th ... re-idiots/

As if the actual concern was that Boris Epshteyn was gonna be showing up on Cubs telecasts instead of financially supporting the causes he supports.

The distributors insist on forcing cable providers to add single channel stations to basic cable? The Cubs network won’t be available a la carte according to Phil Rosenthal. I don’t see how that benefits Sinclair, considering what happened to Dodger games in recent years.

Because the number of people willing to pay a premium for an a la carte Cubs channel isn't that big.

Ad revenue to Sinclair is likely far greater than any monthly licensing fees they'd pick up from an a la carte model, especially since some of those fees would go to distributors like Comcast anyway.

By pushing to get onto basic cable, they're assured of a much larger audience and can therefore get higher prices for ad slots.

During a "Not For Women Only" panel discussion, former Cubs pitcher Mike Bielecki asked several players to invent a baseball catch phrase for Viagra. Theriot's ad campaign: "Viagra -- I always play hard."

The Dodgers situation is completely different from what this is.

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

Yep. The companies making money from the Dodger deal (outside of the Dodgers) are the vpn guys. Most LA fans I know out here just use that with the MLB stream.

Ha - with Europe about to pass their bloody internet law, I was thinking that a forum like this won't be viable if something like that comes to the US.

That's probably the path I'm going to take so I'm not funding Sinclair. Will probably be the final straw in me cutting the cord too.

If you disdain the life of piracy then I recommend that you definitely steer clear of google searching "Reddit Lazyman"

What’s the difference? One is a distributor and one is a cable provider?
