I worry that Javier Baez will never be much better than he right now because he rarely walks and is so undisciplined at the plate.

Ah, Javy may never be better than a 5+ win MVP candidate? Shame.

For what it's worth, scanning quickly it looks like the Brewers have the same September schedule, with Thursday 8/29 off instead of Monday 8/26. Obviously they are less likely to have rain outs.

Cardinals look to have the 29th, 9th, and the 26th off.

I guess this is a good thing to hear to give us optimism he can be 75-80% of the pitcher he was post trade for a full year.

Yeah, homeboy was showing all kinds of warning signs that he was still the same bum-ass he was before the Cubs got him down the stretch. This'll likely turn out to be another expensive Theo pitching botch that just makes the Ricketts even more miserly.

They’re still the best team, the margin has been cut down but they’re still the best and if things go remotely
close to plan they aren’t finishing horsefeathering third or lower.

They finished second last year and apparently are ok with that because they changed absolutely nothing. So I will guess they finish second again.
