If She did cheat on him, that would make him a cuckold. Which is a funny word.

I think that's only if he is forced to watch.

i'm not blaming him at all, i just don't remember ever hearing about a player missing time for a divorce. i just assume that half of the team is going through a divorce at any given time. almora has had like 3 since zobrist played his last game.

I have no idea of your level of sarcasm there but I'm almost sure Almora has only been married the one time

Not every baseball player's divorce is like John Lackey's, where he doesnt care if his ex dies or not.
I trust Ben Zobrist that he knows whether he would be useful to the Cubs right now. Im guessing they'd all rather have him away getting better mentally than him taking at bats with his mind focused elsewhere.

I don’t think Ben cares about whether he’d be useful to the Cubs right now

Sammy Sosa says it's time to finally come back to Chicago ... the legendary Cub tells TMZ Sports he's looking to return to Wrigley after a 12-YEAR hiatus
-----
"I haven't gone back to Chicago yet, but I will," Sosa says.
Sammy -- who says he's still a HUGE Cubs fan -- tells us he's been happy living out his life in Miami in the meantime ... saying that's actually the reason why he's yet to make an Illinois return.
"I haven't had the time to go to Chicago, but I will."
By the way, Sosa also tells us he hasn't had many opportunities to speak with Mark McGwire over the past couple of years ... but he says a reunion with the Cardinals legend is also in his plans soon

Is it me or does Joe seem very reluctant to pitch Chatwood? It seems he has earned a bit more trust

This is far from a fully formed thought, but it seems like with Montgomery essentially piggybacking with Darvish for now, Chatwood is by default the long man, and needs to be saved for those situations where the starter doesn't go deep. With the way Lester, Hendricks, Q, even Hamels (besides last night) have been pitching, there hasn't been a lot of need for him. It's possible Chatwood isn't ready for/used to things like pitching back to back, as he's never had to do that in his career, so if you bring him in for an inning, he might be unavailable the next day, and trying to piece together 6 or 7 innings without Chatwood and Monty is pretty daunting right now.
If he continues to pitch like this, he'll get more opportunities. And I think if Darvish shows he can pitch into at least the 5th or 6th consistently, that will free up Monty and give Joe more flexibility to use both of them.

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat
I’m fine with Chatwood where he is. Still don’t fully trust him. He’s got a 5.13 FIP and a .225 BABIP allowed, and he’s still walking too many, though he’s way better than last year - 5.7 per 9 vs 8.2. He was at 4.2 per 9 in his career before coming to Chicago. His xFIP is only 4.22 and someone smarter than me can tell us if that or FIP is more predictive going forward.

I like Chatwood following lefty starters and Monty following righty starters. It can really exploit weaknesses in lineup construction and gives Monty and Chatwood either the chance to face lots of same-handed hitters, or forces the opposing manager to burn up his bench.

Browsing fangraphs and see this article
https://tht.fangraphs.com/whats-in-the-infield-skin/
The cover pic is such an unbelievably odd choice. Out of the billions of pics available they chose a pic of the mid-2000s Cubs, although I love seeing ARam and D-Lee as much as the next fella, warming up in what appears to me to be a spring training game with a dude named Blanco (although not Henry, I don't even recall this guy wearing number 59) manning SS.
So completely random.
