Van D-y-k-e Verdict

Postby UMFan83 » Fri Oct 05, 2018 6:15 pm

Will be announced in about 30 mins (1:45 CT).

A bunch of downtown companies are sending their employees home early based on the potential civil unrest, everyone in my office left but I'm gonna leave normal time and hope for the best. Anyone else down here getting the all clear to go home?

Edit: Had to spell D-y-k-e because the word filter blocks it

Same.

"We have been alerted that a verdict will be communicated at 1:45pm today. Given the safety of our employees is our primary concern, we are closing the Wacker Office effective immediately. "

I'm at Jackson and Wacker. I think I can get across the river pretty quickly and onto my train out of town if necessary. Either way, I hope everyone stays safe out there.

Fair enough...I guess I don't think of Mt. Carmel area as a hotbed for any potential issues 30 hours after the verdict.

yeah I'm probably going to die, I'm at Washington and Clark (aka right by City Hall), and my boss doesn't believe in closing the office for anything.

Guilty, so the protests won't be angry.

Second City Training Center staff was also informed that if they wanted to leave early in the event of a not guilty verdict and the potential riots that they were allowed to do so

Same here. I'm by Jackson and Wells and they told us we could leave but if we wanted to be paid for the day they were taking it from our PTO. Everyone I know stayed.

Thankfully it wasn't an issue.

Damn. They basically made us leave. The expectation was to work from home and be prepared to work from home next week if needed, but it wasn't quite enforceable.
