Graduated from my Alma mater (first pro player ever from there) so I ain't even mad. He also had a really nice TD saving tackle on the earlier Robinson 60 yd catch that ended up being called back.

Yep. I've only heard great things about him.

My take on that game is that the Bears are only slightly better than the Giants. It didn't surprise me in the slightest that Nagy started playing not to lose at 10 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. He really deserved to lose that game by sitting on his 12 point lead with that much time left, but luckily the defense didn't completely wear out.

Seems like every game the Bears start out really slow on offense, figure it out for 1-1.5 quarters and score points and then hang on at the end and hope to win.

I also don’t understand why Nagy always plays not to lose in these games. It has either led to them blowing it or coming close to blowing it every time.

Game shouldn't have been that close, the last Giant TD was a prayer that was answered.

Nagy blew a massive lead in the playoffs when he was with the Chiefs, TE hurt be damned. I'm less and less impressed with him

I am really concerned with Nagy's offense at this point. i know Mitch has been bad more times than not, but the games he's been decent (AKA not a disaster), the Bears have only put up 16 vs. LAC, 20 vs. DET, and 19 today vs. NYG. Throw in the 16 scored vs. Minnesota when Daniel was decent, and Nagy's offense just isn't putting up enough points. I know they had more help from the defense last year, but the offense seemed to make the most of opportunities last year, scoring wise.

I said it last week (or maybe earlier in this thread), but the Andy Reid coaching tree has, by and large, been comprised of a bunch of failures. Or, perhaps, are littered with good coordinators, most of whom have no business being head coaches

Good:

John Harbaugh

Jury is still out:

Doug Pederson
Sean MacDermott

MEH:

Ron Rivera
Matt Nagy

OOF:

Brad Childress
Steve Spagnuolo
Leslie Frazier
Pat Shurmur
Todd Bowles

Doug Pederson wins super bowl and jury is out. Ron Rivera has a decade of quality and its the same as Nagy?

4 NFL coach of the year awards on that list.

Well done.

I'll give you Rivera, though the Panthers have been all over the place, record-wise (3 winning seasons and 6 losing seasons)

Pederson did win a Super Bowl, and has gone 14-13 since. I'd say the jury is still out

Also, it's weird to talk about Rivera being from the Reid coaching tree right?

Yes, the one with 2 1/2 completely mediocre seasons and one championship season

The tree thing is kind of dumb anyways, but if current coaches is there any current coach who's is better than Reid? You can go all the way up to guys like Parcells, but those "trees" start to get super broad anyways, so of course there's plenty of good ones.

I mean, there's like 3 active coaches who have won a championship this century, not named Belichick. 1 championship season is an accomplishment in the Patriots dynasty era.

I'd be pretty happy with a coach that won a Super Bowl in one of his first 3 years as coach.

As would we all. I'm not taking that away from Pederson. I'm just waiting to see if he gets the Eagles back on track, or if it's going to be 9-7 seasons from here on out

Were you happy with a manager that won a world Series in his first 3 years? Football is different than baseball but there have been some "not that great" coaches that have one a single super bowl.
