Saw some Cards fans griping on Twitter that an announcer said Javy has the edge in the MVP race because he plays 3 positions. They argued “so does Carpenter”. It amazes me that they think Carpenters defense at 1st, 2nd and 3rd is even in the same stratosphere as Javy at 2nd, 3rd, and SS.

yea, but without carpenter, the cards would be like 8 or 9 games out.

Absolutely. It’s just laughable to me that they think his defense would be a positive in any way.

Matt Carpenter is having a more valuable season than Javier Baez, but that'd just make it even funnier to listen to the bitching if Baez wins MVP.

Oh come on, you'd love it if it was a Cub thing.

On the other hand, yeah, he's a Texas guy and buddies with Arrieta so he's likely a bible thumping weirdo. Also, if you can't hit anywhere in the lineup but the 1 spot, you're not an MVP.

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

during his HR explosion in Chicago or right after he said he had been eating home made salsa, since then when Cardinals get on base they've been miming eating salsa (at least in the Cubs series in St. Louis they were doing that)

https://redbirdrants.com/2018/07/23/st- ... ret-salsa/

below is a huge pic of Dex eating said salsa

Spoiler: show

of course with that team it had to be as boring as the condiment instead of something fun like the dancing
