Billy Dee Williams is 80 years old and has 1 foot in the grave.
Let the past die.
Except for John Williams. They need to work on cloning him ASAP.

I really don't know how they're going to wrap this story up in just one movie.

Man, I'm not expecting them to have him running around and kicking horsefeathers; just have the dude holding court in a booth in a bar or something, dispensing dope ass advice and smoothery for a few minutes.

Re: ♫ Star Wars, nothing but...Star Wars! ♫
But seriously, the griping about THAT Leia scene just makes me sad. Personally, my favorite moments in movies or TV shows or comics are the rare ones like this where they do something so fantastic that I have no frame of reference for it and I never knew how much I wanted it to be a thing until it happens. I think it's more people uncomfortable with something like that when they start whining about how "it doesn't look right;" how the horsefeathers is something as amazing as a woman using the Force to horsefeathering STAY ALIVE IN SPACE supposed to look, you miserable slabs?
To which someone will follow up something lame like, "well, then they shouldn't have done it in the first place," and then I will say, "stop talking to me and go enjoy a bowl of plain white rice in an empty room."

I think it's fair to say that the force part was really awesome, but the floating part was really clunky looking

So many of people's complaints about popular media these days appear to be less things they actually feel and more trying to anticipate what the internet will be mad at.

Because it was just....awkward? Didn't make me hate the concept, though

The animation of her floating through the destroyed bridge. It's nitpicking but it was weird. Looked like they hung her from ropes and swung her across the set (and yes, I know, they didn't)

this av club article just about sums up why the last jedi is horsefeathering awesome:
Part Kurosawa, part Wile E. Coyote, The Last Jedi boldly rewires Star Wars' origins
and one of the comments from an av club community member hits the nail on the head:

this is exactly what im talking about. An interesting scene reduced to "well part of it maybe looked like ropes? kinda? or not i dunno"

And yet I said the concept was cool and I accepted it for what it was.

Exactly. She's horsefeathering frozen in space and people are hung up on, "it looks weird." Yes, because she's FROZEN IN SPACE.
And I guaren horsefeathers - tee that if she was swooping and flying around instead people would say that that was lame, too. "Man, they're just ripping off The Matrix now. What is she, SUPERLEIA?!? Dur-hur-hur."

You turds don't even know what you want.
It's Princess Leia drowned in moonlight and you're worried that it's not cool enough for your star war.

I was worried that the MRA crowd was silent, but they started crawling out with more of their “Star Wars is now anti-white male” nonsense.

While I don't think it's impossible for Episode 9 to wrap up this trilogy I don't entirely buy that the announced Rian Johnson trilogy is a whole new Star Wars story taking place in a different part of the galaxy.

I'm pretty cool with Abrams coming back to finish this one since Johnson very helpfully did away with the "mystery box"-type of narrative crutches Abrams tends to fall back on. With Snoke and Rey's parents out of the way I'm confident he's got a good shot of sticking the the landing; quirks aside, the guy is a hell of a director and storyteller.

The end of Battlerfont II made it seem like Rey’s parents were more important, no?

Well, now I feel like I completely missed something in BF2.
Or is this just because Iden and Del have a daughter?

But really, they're not revealing Rey's parents in a horsefeathering video game cutscene.
