The main thing I don’t miss about chess tournaments is getting paired against kids. It’s 50/50 that you’re going to destroy them and feel bad or they’re going to destroy you and you just got walked by a 9 year old.

P sure a 13 year old was getting help from his dad’s laptop on his “bathroom break” one time so horsefeathers that kid

I had a kid (who was probably about 10) with his phone in his lap and the parents of his opponent said that his dad was texting him tips from across the room. I felt really bad for the other kid but I had no proof. At the time there wasn't anything in the rules prohibiting having your phone with you during a tournament. This is an unrated tournament that is mostly for fun and a little trophy. It never occurred to me that a parent would help their 10 year old cheat another 10 year old out of a game of chess. My mistake.

I talked with the kid that had the phone and he withdrew before the next round. I haven't seen him at the tournament since. The kid he was playing against has come every year since then.

I attended an Arkansas Traveler game when they were the AA affiliate for the Cardinals. A guy named Tyrone Horn hit a HR cycle in order-solo shot, 2 run shot, 3 run, grand slam. Pretty sure his game bat and gloves were sent to Cooperstown.

I know nothing about horse racing, but I had five bucks on maximum security to win and I'm mad.

I had a superfecta that I lost in similar fashion once. It happens more often than you would suspect.

Snooker is a very difficult game to master. The pockets are so narrow compared to most pool tables.

Ha ha ha, yeah! How DARE kids have varied interests! They should devote the entirety of the prepubescent lives to a single thing, mostly to gain the favor of a retired NBA guy
