Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

Benn impressed this year with Keegan Thompson. Has been really good. Does he project as a starter next year? If not, when? And if so, he's clearly a 3-5 type, right? Does he have the stuff to be a 3 or maybe one day better?

Re: 2021 Trade Deadline Targets, Rumors, and Rampant Speculation

So I'm wondering something. Suppose the Cubs go on a nice little run before the trade deadline. Nothing crazy, but a run that gets them several over .500, say something like winning 9 or 10 of their next 14. Assuming this allows them to gain a couple of games on the VBs, could this actually work in ...

Re: 2021 Trade Deadline Targets, Rumors, and Rampant Speculation

Is 34 really that old for one of the all-time great relievers in baseball? Does he have a history of injury? Is there really any reason to believe he won't be playing baseball for another 4-5 years. Seems to me $16 million isn't that bad a deal for a dominant closer.

Re: 2021 Trade Deadline Targets, Rumors, and Rampant Speculation

Just a reminder, though, that Kimbrel isn't a free agent after the season if the team doesn't want him to be. A $16 million option is a lock to be picked up if he stays healthy and effective. Doesn't that make trading for him more appealing to potential suitors, and thereby, making the return poten...

Re: College Baseball (Multiple Seasons)

Went to Game 2 off Ole Miss / Arizona in the Tucson Super Sectional last night. Thought I’d cheer on the local team. Admittedly, don’t know much about college baseball, don’t really follow it. But a few observations: -watched the Rebels pitcher warm up. He looked scared/uneasy. Thought he would get ...

Re: Golf thread

The question is when should you get relief from a divot in the fairway? It’s not black and white. Up until you see any grass growing in the divot? What stinks is that a player rakes a sand trap, which is a hazard, so the next person in it gets a good lie, but you can get terrible lies in the fairwa...

Th\ere are plenty of starting QBs in the NFL worse than Goff. Maybe the Lions thonk they can build around him.

Haven't been able to see too many Bears games this season, so will Fuller shadow Adams? Or does he primarily play one side of the field?

Well it's settled. https://twitter.com/Lj_era8/status/1338756495467540486 I refuse to believe he couldn't get a cramp worked out on the bench. IF they had to take his pants off, put him in the tent. They have everything the sidelines except X-rays and toilets. Lamar had to horsefeathers. The intern...
